Lesson 4 : Mortar and Pestle.

Todays creative studies lecture was presented by Mr.Radzibedu. He talked about the thinking of people and how it has affected our minds creatively. I honestly felt that his lecture was exciting and hilarious. He gave an example of a pestle and a mortar. He made us think out of the box and think of different ways of using this as an item of our everyday life. Whether it was for games or medicine or whatever it is. He told us to create new ways of using it because someday this old invention will be forgotten and no one will remember what was the initial use of it. Hence, he told us to think about it and think of possible ways of using it differently than how we use it today. I showed my sketch to him and i will upload the sketches soon once i have scanned them.

I personally feel that what Mr.Radzibedu talked about was very interesting. I think he has a point when he told us to think about what will happen in the future. And his main example was mortar and pestle. It might seem weird at first but I think its a brilliant example. Here is a video of what a basic mortar and pestle will do.

Why Use a Mortar and Pestle?

What if one day this object is not used anymore and can only be found in the museum? Lets think about it.

Besides that i felt that the lecture this week was fun. Hope it continues for the next one.

Mortar and Pastel
"Back in the year 2010, what is mortar and pestle? The current time now is decades after 2010."

Possible Use of Mortar and Pestle
1. Game : Rolling the pestle around until it stops, when the pestle faces the person, that person is the chosen on to do something/play the game.

2. Sound : Hitting in different ways to make music. It can produce different rhythms the way you hit it differently.

3. Pain : Massaging(health care). Placing the mortar behind a persons bag and hitting the pestle on the mortar for double effect instead of hitting directly with the pestle. It will give desire for people with backache problems.

Toodles!
